Air Source heat pump installation
Air Source Heat Pump Installation
Air source heat pumps (ASHP) extract heat from the outside air to heat your home and water. The air source heat pump system is classified as a renewable energy solution and could qualify you, the homeowner, for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) government grant.

How does an air source heat pump work?
Air source heat pumps work like your refrigerator but instead of cooling, they heat. The heat pump pulls the heat from the outside air with its fan, the air then reacts with a liquid refrigerant, which changes state to a gas as it boils. The gas is compressed which dramatically increases the temperature and is used to heat your water system. Air source heat pumps are still effective even in cold temperatures, guaranteeing you a nice, toasty home all year round.
How much does an air source heat pump typically cost?
Each air source heat pump installation is unique. The installation will range from approximately £7,000 upwards.
Is my house suitable for an air source heat pump?
Not every home is suitable for a heat pump system. The technical survey at the beginning of the installation process is key to ensure the correct system is installed for your home.
How much will installing an air source heat pump reduce my fuel bills by?
Every home and heating use is different so the savings will vary per household. Cost savings also depend on the type of heat system the air source heat pump is replacing.
How much noise does an air source heat pump make?
An air source heat pump produces around 40 – 60 decibels of noise. This is equivalent to your refrigerator or light traffic.
How long will the installation of an air source heat pump take?
Installation time varies on a per-project basis. If insulation needs to be added to the home, where the heat pump will be placed and the unit inside the home. Air source heat pumps typically take 11 days to install.
Does the air source heat pump work with my current radiators?
Air source heat pumps work with different sized radiators, the on-site survey will assess your current radiators.
