Infrared Heating
Infrared Heating
Infrared heating is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to warm your home. Infrared heating panels silently heat the objects in your house instead of the air.
Infrared panels heat the surface instead of heating the entire area. Conventional heaters work by heating the air around them, an infrared heater heats the objects. Even when the infrared heating panels are not on, the objects in the room, such as the furniture, walls and floor, retain the heat and slowly release it into the room.
Benefits of Infrared Heating Panels
Lower energy bills
Low installation cost
Quick installation process
Reduced carbon (CO2) emissions
Infrared Heating Panels Installation
Infrared heating services have an easy installation and a lack of maintenance care. Infrared heating panels are usually wall mounted but can also be installed around mirrors or pictures. The various options make for custom installation in any room in the home.
How does infrared heat work?
Infrared heat, also known as radiant heat, releases heat from objects to warm the area. Normally, we heat our environments by heating the air. With infrared heaters heat the surface of the objects, allowing them to slowly release heat over time. It’s similar to how our bodies will release heat into a cold room.
Is infrared heat environmentally friendly?
Yes! Infrared heat uses less energy than other heating methods, reducing your carbon emissions.
How long does it take to heat a room?
Since infrared heaters work by heating the objects in the room, it can initially take longer to heat but then it is easier to keep the desire ambient temperature. When first installed, it is recommended to run the heater continually until the desired temperature is reached, then use the heater periodically to keep the room at that temperature.
Where should the panels be mounted?
Retro Housing recommends mounting the panels higher on the wall so they can reach the objects in the room. Ideally, the panels should not be placed opposite a window or door for then the heat can escape through those areas and will not be absorbed.

Aftercare (Maintenance Program)
One of the benefits of infrared heating panels is their lack of required maintenance. Your heating panels have a lifetime guarantee (? usually from the manufacturer) and do not require any upkeep.
